Our Brand New Plant Nursery

We've been growing and selling plants for years, with 100 percent of the proceeds being used to improve the lives of children in crisis in undeveloped communities in South Africa. Now, we've taken a giant leap forward with a move to bigger premises in Ashley Green Road, Chesham, Bucks. And we are now OPEN FOR BUSINESS again!

We've joined forces with an exciting new initiative called The House of Tree (www.houseoftree.co.uk) and have established the Root and Branch Change Nursery as the first component of what will become a vibrant community garden, with a multi-purpose arts venue and community café (called "The Branch Café). Before the end of 2023, we will be taking the first steps in creating a lavender plantation, and a carbon capture orchard, as well as constructing a beautiful demonstration garden at the nursery, experimental African-style nutrition garden, and a large "bug palace" - all with the help of our faithful group of volunteers, and young people from a local school for children and young people with special needs.

Now that the move to the new site is complete, we are building up our selection of hardy perennial garden plants, roses, lavender and, our area of special interest - Agapanthus (otherwise known as African lilies, even though they are not actually lilies at all) and other drought-resistant plants.

Over the summer and autumn, the nursery will be open on Tuesdays (9.30 - 4.00) and Fridays (9.30 - 1.30), when you can buy plants, volunteer to help in the nursery and community garden, or just come and look around our site, with its views across an area of outstanding natural beauty. Also, from the autumn, you'll be able to pop into The Branch Café for coffee and delicious cakes!

As well as selling plants from the nursery, in August, we will be revamping our online plant store on this site, so you can order with confidence, with free local delivery. We will also be available to come to your workplace, church or community project, with our mobile plant store, for the convenience of your colleagues or members. None of our team members are paid for their work with the charity, and every penny made is used to facilitate positive transformation ion the lives of extremely vulnerable children.
