Exotic, hardy plants with spheres made up of many small, trumpet-like blooms in pure white, with strong lance-shaped foliage. Agapanthus africanus 'Albus' makes an outstanding border perennial for a sunny position in the garden.

Agapanthus, sometimes known as "African Lilies" or "Lily of the Nile" (odd because they are not lilies and originate from South Africa, nowhere near the Nile!) are also show-stopping patio container plants. They are easy maintenance plants, and only need re-potting every few years. For something new, try cutting a few blooms of your African Lilies and display them in a vase indoors.
