Work is well underway to convert and extend the Old Bakery at Munsieville's Children's Embassy*, to become a strategic base for outreach services to help primary and secondary school students to form new, positive habits and the emotional resilience that will help drive down drug and alcohol misuse and the high prevalence of pregnancy in children as young as 10 years.

Members of the Root & Branch Change team will operate from the new facility when it is completed in March, reaching out to hundreds of children and young people who pass the site every day. They will also visit their schools with the organisation's "Smart Choices: Better Futures" curriculum, which is heavily influenced by the positive, life-style guidance found in the Bible. The team will also maintain its presence at the Hope Park Children's Health Campus* where there are special facilities including the "Ga O Nosi Lounge", thoughtfully equipped to facilitate support to young people in crisis through group activities and individual personal coaching.
Root & Branch Change is committed to working with its partners in the Munsieville community, and externally, with government agencies and academic institutions, to develop innovative, new approached to tackle the crisis of child pregnancy, often caused by rape, incest and coercion, and the drug addiction that is common in schools, including primary schools. The charity's aim is to develop and test new resources and tools, capturing accurate data to plot changes in attitude and behaviour, and, where evidence supports it, to offer the resources to communities across South Africa that are also struggling with the crisis affecting tens of thousands of children and young people. * The Munsieville Children's Embassy and Hope Park Children's Health Campus are vital facilities established by our strategic partners, Project HOPE UK/The Thoughtful Path, Munsieville.
