Men of Munsieville Standing up to Make a Difference

Munsieville, South Africa's oldest, undeveloped township, played an important role in the struggle against the tyranny of apartheid. Men of courage stood up to fight for freedom, but now they are frustrated that their own community has seen little progress over the past thirty years.
Child abuse and neglect is rife. Unemployment, the norm. Gender-based violence witnessed in every street. Poverty, blighting the lives of the whole community.

Now, increasing numbers of men in Munsieville are saying "enough is more than enough". They are determined to stand up once more, joining others who were born after the Mandela-led triumph of 1994, to face the new challenges sucking the life-blood from a new generation.

But these men are painfully aware of their own limitations and are calling out to God to change them, so they can become conduits of positive change in others.

The Filling Station is a brand new initiative to nurture faith in men and to see them filled and equipped by God so they really can make a positive difference. It's an initiative operating in partnership with Real Life Church, Krugersdorp.
